Most automotive enthusiasts have dream cars with at least a good deal of their roots in some form of motorsports. Sometimes the dream car is the race car itself that was the inspiration for its more road-going brethren. The only issue here is dream cars are expensive, otherwise you would already own them. This is where video games such as Gran Turismo come into play. The latest update (v1.19) to Gran Turismo 7 includes three new cars and two more backdrops for the ’scapes’ feature.

The first and probably the most popular model being added to the game is the 2013 Porsche 918 Spyder. With a hybrid power train consisting of four-wheel-drive, two electric motors, and a 4.6-liter V-8 capable of 887 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque, it would surely be a fun option for the Nordschleife.

The second is the 1984 Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette Group 5 race car. In 1982 and 1983, Masahiro Hasemi piloted this aero-tastic monster in the Super Silhouette series, landing two wins in 1982 and five wins in 1983.

Nissan said, "the Super Silhoutte category allowed heavy modifications and this...is the equivalent of a Formula racing car on the inside." The engine is an LZ20B 2.1-liter turbo four-cylinder capable of 570 horsepower. Sounds perfect for the Fuji raceway with its long pit straight and the long sweeping turns.

Lastly, the third car included in the update is the 1954 Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder. It is powered by a 2.0-liter straight-six with dual overhead cams, an alloy cylinder head, and dual spark plugs. All that means it is capable of about 170 horsepower. It seems like this would be right at home on the more tight and technical layout of Circuit de Sainte-Croix.

Honestly, not much. There are two new locations for the Scapes feature, Shikoku and Tomica Town, both of which are in Japan. Shikoku is a hot spring in the city of Matsuyama and Tomica Town is like a city made by the Japanese version of Matchbox.

Essentially a glorified photo mode that allows you to place any car in a unique and beautiful digital location and take great pictures. Don’t be fooled though, you cannot do any driving in this mode.

Gran Turismo 7 was released in March 2022 and initially offered over 400 cars and 34 locations with a total of 90 different layouts of those tracks to players on the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.
