Steven Lebeck Obituary - The Hawk Eye

Steven Allen Lebeck, 75, of Burlington, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at his home.

Born April 28, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of Francis Eugene "Corky" and Ellen May Ehret Lebeck.

He graduated from Burlington High School in 1965 then attended Southeastern Community College.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from August of 1966 until March of 1971 aboard the USS Terrell County (LST 1157). He spent three tours of duty in Vietnam in the Naval Advisory Group.

Steven retired from Champion Spark Plug Company in Burlington after over 40 years of employment.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose, Eagles, Corvette Club and Terrell County Association. Steven enjoyed reunions and get together's with his classmates and his Navy brothers. He was a season ticket holder of about 50 years, for the SCC Athletics. He was a regular at the Green Bay Tap. He loved to travel and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his sister, Nancy (Vern) Morrow of Burlington; brother, Francis "Gene" (Kathy) Lebeck, Jr. of Le Claire, IA; nephew, John Hunter of Burlington; two nieces, Diana Orwick of Independence, MO and Sara Gameon of Boise, ID; five great nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one great nephew.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A Private Graveside Committal Service will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and SCC Booster Club.
